Pipeshield opens a strategic supply base at Mukran Port in the Baltic Region

Pipeshield International Limited, a Tekmar Group Company, in partnership with Mukran Port, has established a regional supply base on the German Island of Rügen, increasing their operational and logistical capability in the Baltic Sea.

The decision to open the strategic supply base was taken by Pipeshield following the successful delivery of several projects from Mukran Port over the last 18 months.

The supply base will utilize the ports excellent transport connections via road, rail and sea, whilst taking advantage of the ports excellent geographical position between Central Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltic region and Russia.

The port has already proved its efficiency to the offshore wind sector during the construction of offshore wind farms Wikinger, Baltic 2 and Arkona Becken.

In cooperation with Mukran Port, Pipeshield has access to onsite office facilities and manufacturing capability that enables the timely and cost-effective manufacturing and supply of subsea asset protection and stabilisation solutions to clients in the region.

Clients operating in the Baltic will benefit greatly from project cost and logistical optimisation that Pipeshield can now offer.

Project Management & onsite manufacturing will be fully under Pipeshield supervision and in accordance with Pipeshield’s comprehensive quality management system.

The new supply base builds on Pipeshield’s existing relationship with Mukran Port and provides other Tekmar Group companies with a regional hub from which they can support their offshore energy clients in the Baltic Sea.
