Tekmar Energy (Tekmar), the European based market leading specialists in cable protection systems (CPS) for Offshore Windfarms has recently been awarded a large contract to protect array cables on the 400MW Binhai North H2 Offshore Windfarm project, in the Jiangsu province of China.

This news comes after the successful supply and installation of its systems on the first project in Taiwan last year, the Formosa 1 demonstrator project. This clearly marks Tekmar’s entry into the Offshore Windfarm industry in Asia.

The 400MW Binhai North H2 project is currently under contraction and aims to be completed and fully commissioned by the end of 2017. The cables and cable protection systems will be installed this summer.

Jack Simpson, Head of Offshore Wind Sales at Tekmar said, “Tekmar are extremely pleased to be working on this large and prestigious project in China. The Chinese Offshore Windfarm industry is still relatively new when compared to Europe however is set for ambitious growth in the future”.

With more than 30 years’ experience, Tekmar is the market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of subsea cable, umbilical and flexible protection systems for the renewable energy and oil & gas industry.
